BEA(Bureau of Economic Analysis、アメリカ合衆国経済分析局)も、インフレの傾向を見るにはコアPCE物価指数の方がよいと言っている。

PCE and CPI Inflation: What’s the Difference? Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

In the United States, there are two primary measures of the prices paid by consumers for goods and services. One is the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS); the other is the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, prepared by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).

The CPI probably gets more press, in that it is used to adjust social security payments and is also the reference rate for some financial contracts, such as Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) and inflation swaps. The Federal Reserve, however, states its goal for inflation in terms of the PCE.
